Fran Rhoads Bio:
Fran is the former Director of Instruction at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm for 22 years (1999 -2021) and is currently coaching part time at the same facility, TPC Potomac. In 2018, Fran invented the Flight Deck putting trainer and founded Flight Deck Putting, LLC. His products are now in use by over 50 touring professionals around the world.
A PGA Member since 1988, Fran has 35 years of teaching and coaching experience. He has been consistently ranked among the Top Instructors in the State of Maryland by Golf Digest Magazine. Named as the 2011 “Teacher of the Year” in the Middle Atlantic Section of the PGA. Fran is also an AGA Certified Golf Fitness Instructor.

Fran was selected as the best Golf Instructor in the Washington Metropolitan area in 2003 by the prestigious Washingtonian magazine. Fran is also certified in the field of Instruction by the PGA of America.

Qualified for the 1980 United States Amateur Public Links Championship; 1984 Baltimore City Amateur Champion; NJCAA Region XX Individual Champion; Finished 5th in the 1985 Maryland State Open Championship; 1991 Winner of the Tom Strange Trophy for Most Valuable Player of the MAPGA Chapter Challenge Cup Matches; qualified for the 1990, 2000 and 2002 PGA Club Professional Championships; Fran also qualified for the 1989 and 1991 Anheuser Busch Classic, PGATOUR. Fran’s lowest competitive 18 hole score is 64.
